28 Dec #vinyloftheday – Bradley Zero (Rhythm Section/Boiler Room) interview
Programmer, producer and host at the iconic and icon-making Boiler Room TV, Bradley Zero may come bearing a passionate approach to vinyl, but he also prefers to let the music do the talking. Hence his music comes wonderfully replete with a myriad of sounds and textures that besides reflecting his fervent love for the vinyl format, re-emphasises its centrality to DJ-ing and electronic music as a whole. Besides his work with Boiler Room – the live-streaming series with which he’s helped build connections, communities and conversations around emerging and established artists – Bradley’s Rhythm Section nights, held in his town of Southeast London, has been another platform for his love for wax. In keeping it local while making it an exclusive vinyl-only affair, Bradley reckons, “It was a good way to separate those who meant it from those who didn’t.”
Bradley was recently in town for a night of No Party Here to work 237 South Bridge Road up to a sweat, and both #vinyloftheday and ZIGGY were there to uncover his inner workings and philosophy, whilst digging deep into his record bag. Watch it unfold in this video and read all about it in ZIGGY’s September issue.
P.S: Bradley also picked up some serious Asian records and met up with local label ‘Syndicate’ to play 100 % local beats and some world exclusive edits for his NTS radio show. The first half is 100% Vinyl Finds from earlier in the day, the 2nd hour is in the studio with the #vinyloftheday team at the controls, showing what the city has to offer. Absolutely astounding results!
