The Roots are reissuing 3 classic albums on vinyl to celebrate anniversary

The Roots are reissuing 3 classic albums on vinyl. This time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their LP, Things Fall Apart. In due time the records Do You Want More?!!!??! (1995), and Illadelph Halflife (1996) will also be available. Prior to that the first of the lot to be out on September 27th, 2019 is the album Things Fall Apart.

Secondly, Do You Want More?!!!??! is celebrating its 25th anniversary next year. Following it will be Illadelph Halflife that turns 25 in 2021. To begin with, Things Fall Apart includes the Grammy Award-winning song “You Got Me”. At the same time also present are collaborations with Mos Def, Common, Erykah Badu and Eve, among others.

When The Roots originally released their fourth studio album, Things Fall Apart, in 1999. The hip-hop group shortly reached Number 4 on the Billboard 200. Due to the impact of the album, there was a sea of change in hip-hop. All in all, The Roots overtook the gangsta rap sound that ruled the decade and offered a fresh alternative to the era.

Things Fall Apart, Standard & Collector’s Edition

To explain more, The Roots said, “We’re looking forward to going back to the vault to revisit our original recordings from the studio and we’re excited to celebrate these albums by really delivering something special for our fans.”

In any case, the reissue is available in two variations, standard, and a collector’s edition. Firstly, the standard edition includes the original album on double vinyl. As well as a third bonus LP curated by Questlove. The 10-song bonus vinyl contains previously unreleased tracks, extended live songs, and other rarities.

On the other hand, the collector’s version includes everything from the standard edition but arrives in clear vinyl. Regardless both versions feature a booklet with rare images, retrospective essays from Black Thought and Questlove. Also, head here to pre-order and info. Check out the artwork and tracklist below.
