23 Sep Nike Air Max 270 React gets 5 new colorways inspired by music genres
Nike has launched a new Air Max 270 React collection with 5 new colorways re-imagined through music genres. The genres they have taken influence from include, Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, Electronic Dance Music, Reggae and Punk Rock.
The Air Max 270 React is undeniably one of the most comfortable sneakers that have been released recently. It combines Nike’s first lifestyle Air unit, the 270, with the brand’s softest, smoothest and most resilient foam, Nike React. To then form a new articulation of Air Max.
5 Genres, 1 Shoe
Each of the Air Max 270 Reacts arrive with specially designed insoles. The graphic elements and typographic detail on the insoles bring out the essence of the genres along with its colorways.
Nike describes the “Hip-Hop” colorway’s all-black paneling as a means to embody “the activism, love and rage needed for change.” Secondly, the “Heavy Metal” model is made prominent through its metallic Nike Swoosh detail. It comes embellished in gold and pops out in contrast to the deep shades of blue and black. “Reggae” evokes more of the calm and rhythmic spirit with its earthy forest green and tan fusion. Meanwhile, “Punk Rock” showcases a cleaner aesthetic choice. It features a black upper with clean white underlays and logos emphasizing contrast. Finally the brightest of the collection is the “Electronic Dance Music” colorway. It comes designed with hues of red, pink and crimson to signify the thrilling bright sounds of EDM.
