Koflow unveils his latest album of beat experiments, Metem

Koflow comes gliding into the mid-year with Metem, his latest album.

The veteran turntablist takes the role of producer, churning out nine songs that show the hip-hop operator’s versatility after decades reigning over club decks.

Released via Syndicate SG, Metem is a heady mix of hip-hop, future bass, dubstep, breakbeat, and IDM.

On the album’s press release, the label describes it as “a hypervivid rendering of the corresponding evolution of hip-hop’s essence into new forms of music, new canvases and expressive worlds.” So, pretty high stakes beat music, for sure.

The album features the guest talents of Mean and J.Joven, along with the mastering skills of Low End Theory founder Daddy Kev, whose engineering work has linked him with the likes of Nosaj Thing, Flying Lotus, and Kamasi Washington. This album follows Syndicate SG’s release of .gif‘s Hail Nothing back in April.

There’s no word on a physical release of the album yet. However, it is now available digitally, distributed via Daddy Kev’s Alpha Pup Records. Check out the tracklist of Koflow’s Metem and stream it below.
