INXS’ rare remix collection Dekadance is due for a release on vinyl.
Following up on the 35th anniversary of their renown album The Swing. At last, INXS is releasing the seven-track remix collection for the very first time on vinyl. When the compilation was first made available, it was only on cassette.
1984 was a breakthrough year for INXS. Following which the album The Swing spent five weeks being #1 in Australia. Thereafter to celebrate The Swing selling 250,000 copies in Australia. INXS released Dekadance.
Dekadance History
However, the band gave the title Dekadance to two separate collections over the years. Basically, the 1984 version featured six extended & re-mixed versions of songs from The Swing album. For instance the tracks ‘I Send A Message’, ‘Melting In The Sun’ and ‘Burn For You’ were remixed by Nick Launay. Also included was a remix of ‘Original Sin’ by Nile Rogers. Andrew Farriss mixed the track ‘Dancing On The Jetty’. In fact, the song was the album’s fourth single. Not to mention long-time INXS producer Mark Opitz did a rare mix of ‘Love Is (What I Say)’. In particular, there is a bonus seventh song on the original cassette. That Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood duet ‘Jackson’ covered by INXS. This time performed together with the likes of Jenny Morris duetting with Michael Hutchence.
Dekadance arrives in a heavyweight 180-gram black vinyl. Summing up it features artwork replicated from the ultra-rare 12″ Dekadance promo gifted to Australian Radio stations in 1984. Without delay head here to pre-order the album. Also, do check out the artwork and tracklist below.
