Dj-Kicks enlists Kamaal Williams for a new mix out on vinyl this November

Kamaal Williams has joined the elite ranks of revered selectors such as Carl Craig, Nina Kraviz, Moodymann, and more with an entry in !K7’s DJ-Kicks series. Although Williams generally reserves his work in the realm of dance music for his Henry Wu alias, the mix is credited to Kamaal Williams. The London jazzman’s Muslim name which has been imprinted on a number of records that have played a key role in the rise of London’s new jazz sound over the past few years.

Artists featured in the compilation include Max Graef, Kaidi Tatham, Lone, Tenderlonious, K15 and Dego. Williams also contributed three exclusives to the mix. The tracks are Shinjuku, Strings (ATL) and a live version of Snitches Brew, plus a Henry Wu exclusive, Wivout U.

Kamaal Williams shared a little insight on the upcoming mix in a press release. He said: It’s about connecting the lineage and giving respect to the creators – those undervalued heroes of this British dance landscape who deserve more recognition today.”
