28 Jun Clearaudio releases £3.5K vinyl record cleaning device for hardcore collectors
Way before the vinyl record revival began, vinyl enthusiasts would treat their precious records to ultrasonic cleaning. Professional cleaning machines for vinyl have been around for almost half a century, surpasses previous cleaning techniques by using the same methods used by watch repairers. Cleaning machines look like a turntable, only that it’s arms, instead of playing the record, release cleaning fluid and scrubs dirt and residue off the grooves. A number of ultrasonic cleaners have appeared on the market, one of the easiest to use being Clearaudio‘s Double Matrix Professional Sonic (DMPS). The company has been making turntables, cartridges and tonearms for decades, so it understands its products, clients and everything that is going on at a molecular level.
Users have many options when using the Double Matrix Professional Sonic, as different records require different cleaning methods. The Clearaudio machine will set you back at around £3,500, but this could be an economical solution for serious collectors that need professional solutions to revitalise used records, especially if they are second-hand and if the user has a large library.
