Banksy-painted copy of Röyksopp album sold for $6962

A copy of Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp’s 2001 album ‘Melody AM’ has sold for $6962 on Discogs. This rare record had artwork spray-painted by renowned street artist Banksy.

In 2002, Röyksopp sent Banksy 100 copies of an ultra-limited white label pressing of the album. He then spray-painted all 100 by hand. The limited release turned into an incredibly rare record with his personal touch. Four of these records are still available via Discogs, with the most expensive listed at £12,500.

The copy of ‘Melody AM’ priced at $6962 was the most expensive record sold on Discogs in May.
