29 Jul Arca to release groundbreaking &&&&& mixtape on vinyl
Big news for day one Arca fans: her mixtape &&&&& is coming back on vinyl.
The 2013 effort marked the arrival of the innovative producer. The mixtape is now heralded as a pivotal electronic music release of the 2010s, and will be reissued by PAN.
With a hybrid form of dance music that bucked conventions, &&&&& still sounds fresh today with its dissection of pop, R&B, ambient, hip-hop and subterranean bass music. “I wanted to make something that was my best work,” Alejandra says about a record that has stood the test of time, “I listen to it very fondly today.”
&&&&& was initially released to stream on Soundcloud. A year later, it was issued on vinyl in a self-released run of 500 pieces. Copies have since gone for more than US$100 on Discogs. This reissue marks the first time the mixtape is getting a commercial release.

The reissue of &&&&& quickly follows the release of Arca’s fourth studio album KiCk i via XL Recordings.
The 25-minute mixtape, newly remastered by Enyang Urbiks, will be pressed on black vinyl with an etched B-side and artwork by Jesse Kanda. With a release date set for 18th September, pre-orders are available here.
